In Andaman there are total 6 different types of tribes who have managed there resources well that they have not run out of their resources and also managed to survive from natural disasters, we can see 4 type of tribes now ie: only 2 types of tribes are extinct there main source of food is hunting animals like wild bores and fishing today we are going to discuss about all the types of tribes of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
1) North Sentinelese
2) Jarwas
3) Great Andamanais
4) Onges
5) Car Nicobarese
6) Great Nicobarese
North Sentinelese:
These are the most isolated tribes from the early humans we have seen many incidents and attacks on normal humans when people try to contact them these tribes have migrated from Africa, Only one Archaeologist from India Mr. Triloknath Pandit in 1960 have interacted with them by offering them coconuts
He have made 3 unsuccessful attempts and finally got in contact with them and studied about them he had found that the tribes are getting diseased because of contacting him and his team members as they carry bacteria from the modern world many of them have dead due to the infections and Government have decided and made that island as prohibited zone, even tribes have realized that there is a threat from normal humans that might be the reason of killing people entering into there territory.
Jarwas:
These are the people who we encounter when we visit Andaman at first they are also isolated but modern people have constructed road across there territory (The Andaman trunk road) many of the tribes have revolted against the modern people who are constructing the road and killed them even modern people killed some of the tribes and some how Jarwas got surrendered and accepted modern man into there territory.
Great Andamanies:
They are the oldest tribes of Andaman islands they used to be in south and central parts of Andaman islands unfortunately they are getting extinct there are only 50 great andamanies now, there used to be 10 different type of communities in Great Andamanies untill Britishers came into this island they have sexually exploited them due this many of them got diseased and dead, even Britishers used them as slaves.
Indian government have displaced these tribes from Port Blair thinking that it would be great if we gift an island to the rest of tribes to Strait Island government provided education, health, food, ration and government jobs but every island has different flora and fauna due to these changes there traditions was changed, in 2012 there used to be only a couple who know the native language of that tribe that is Bo language her husband was passed away because of addiction of alcohol it is not his fault it is we who have made him alcoholic by introducing them into new culture and new things his wife Boe senior is the last person who know the tradition was dead in 2012.
From the 48 few people are children of outsiders and the people who remain original the problem with them is there is no match they are siblings, how much ever welfare measures we take we cannot reproduce these tribe.
Onges: These are the last among 4 types of tribes who are alive they used to be large in number that entire Andaman was filled with them settlers from east pakisthan that is Bangladesh refuges was moved to Andaman forest was cleared and there number got reduced and now they are living in a small island called little Andaman.
Rest of the two tribes CarNicobarese and Great Nicobarese was extinct.
We are the reason for making them extinct by pushing them to modern civilization please don’t kill them with the name of modernization and deforestation.
